The address is:|\n5271-5753 S. Las Vegas Blvd.\nLas Vegas NV 89119 \nIn Recognition of September as Suicide Prevention Month\, the Nevada Office of Suicide and the Nevada Coalition for Suicide Prevention are asking Nevadans to turn the skyline purple and turquoise from Sunday\, September 4th through Saturday September 10th. \nMore than 800\,000 people worldwide die by suicide\, including nearly 46\,000 Americans. This year marks the 19th annual World Suicide Prevention Day\, to be recognized on September 10th with events state and nationwide. This theme is a reminder that there is an alternative to suicide and aims to inspire confidence and a light in all of us. Changing the color of the lights to The Fabulous Welcome to Las Vegas sign is just a star to helping raise awareness\, reducing stigma\, and spreading the word that Suicide Prevention is Everyone’s Business. \nIf you or someone you know is struggling\, call/text/chat with a crisis counselor at 988 today. To learn more go to nvsuicideprevntion.org \n“National Suicide Prevention Awareness week and month is an opportunity to shine a bright light on an important public health concern that affects all Nevadans. Please Join us in Supporting our state in purple and turquoise to let those grieving a loss to suicide\, or those needing extra support\, know they are not alone. We aim to light up our state with involvement\, connection\, and hope” \n– Misty Vaughan Allen\, Nevada’s Suicide Prevention Coordinator \n“World Suicide Prevention Day is how we start bringing light to all the dark places\, starting with Nevadans helping to light up our skylines showing the world there is a light in all of us. If this show of light can help inspire just one person in Nevada\, then we have begun to help make a change to the entire world.” \n– Jennifer L. Hilton\, Nevada Coalition for Suicide Prevention Chair \n\nPrepared by:\nJennifer L. Hilton | NCSP Board Chair\nAugust 31\, 2022
